Phytosomes are plant extracts bound to phosphatidylcholine (PC), an essential component of human

cells. Our bodies can make PC, but we can also get it from food or supplements. When taken

orally, PC is very well absorbed. The scientists at Indena found a way to attach a curcumin

extract to PC for superior absorption, resulting in Meriva. When you take Meriva your body

absorbs the PC and the attached curcumin, resulting in more curcumin reaching the cells that can

benefit from it.*

A 2007 study published in the journal, Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, demonstrated

Meriva's superior bioavailability compared to ordinary curcumin. Liver levels of curcumin were

also higher with Meriva supplementation. A human study demonstrated 29-times greater

bioavailability. In both studies, Meriva supplementation resulted in higher plasma

concentrations of curcumin from a much smaller dose than with ordinary curcumin.

Statements and Warnings

ALLERGY WARNINGS
This product is contraindicated in an individual with a history of hypersensitivity to any of

its ingredients.

Meriva-SR contains curcumin phytosome, a plant extract complexed with phosphatidylcholine, which

is derived from soy. Phosphatidylcholine contains no soy protein. There are no other soy-based

ingredients in Meriva-SR.

PURITY
This product does not contain wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, egg, dairy products, or artificial

colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial flavors. This product also does not contain

lactose, palmitic acid, magnesium stearate, or stearic acid.

PREGNANCY WARNING

INTERACTIONS
Curcumin has been shown to reduce the therapeutic efficacy of cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) in

animal studies. In vitro research revealed that curcumin decreased camptothecin-induced death of

cultured breast cancer cells. Curcumin might also interfere with the absorption and efficacy of

the chemotherapy drug irinotecan, used to treat colon cancer. The concurrent use of curcumin

with these agents should be avoided.
